What is liposuction?

  • Liposuction is the surgical removal of the existing fat tissue in people who can not get rid of regional fat despite trying weight loss methods such as sports and diet.
  • With the application of liposuction, the number of these fat cells in the abdomen, waist, hip, leg, back, arm or neck area is reduced.

What are Liposuction Methods?

Classical Liposuction

  • With the help of cannula and vacuum device, a special liquid is given to the layer where the oil is located.
  • Thanks to this liquid, the broken down fat cells are removed from the body with the help of a vacuum device.
  • If necessary, fat taken from the body during the procedure can be injected into another body area with wrinkles.

Vaser Liposuction

  • In the Vaser Liposuction method, ultrasonic sound waves are given to the fat cells.
  • Fat cells are broken down by these waves.
  • As a result of the disintegration process, the liquefied fat is removed from the body.
  • During Vaser Liposuction, the target tissue is only fat cells.
  • Therefore, it doesn’t damage the surrounding muscle, nerve, vascular tissues or stem cells.
  • At the same time, fat taken from the body in vaser liposuction can be transferred to other body parts.

Who can liposuction be applied to?

  • People who don’t have a systemic health problem, who have completed the weight loss process, but who have deformities caused by lubrication in their body.
  • For those who want to thin regionally
  • For people who want to make their body lines more prominent.

Who can not undergo liposuction?

  • People who have lost their skin elasticity due to age.
  • Pregnant women or women who have just given birth (up to 1 year)
  • Persons at risk of vascular occlusion
  • People with weak immune system
  • Coronary artery patients
  • Diabetes patients
  • Postpartum women with sagging abdominal wall
  • People who can not control their weight gain

What are the risks of liposuction?

  • Bruising on the skin
  • Fat embolism
  • Edema
  • Numbness
  • Infection
  • Fluctuation or staining on the skin when applied to people who have lost their skin elasticity

What are the conditions to be considered after liposuction?

  • Since dissolving sutures are preferred in liposuction, there is no need to remove the sutures.
  • The bruises that occur after the procedure go away after about 3 weeks.
  • After liposuction, the treated area should be massaged as recommended by the doctor.
  • A corset must be used after the intervention.
  • The corset should be used as recommended by the doctor and for at least 4-8 weeks.
  • Recommended exercises should be performed 3-4 weeks after the intervention.
  • Sexual life should be interrupted for at least 4 weeks.
  • Alcohol use should be suspended in the first month. (It is important in weight control.)
  • Smoking is not recommended as it negatively affects wound healing.
  • Care should be taken not to gain weight, as weight gain negatively affects the liposuction process.
  • Full recovery after liposuction takes 6-12 months.
